Michael Seiders |
Michael Seiders is the
Director of Public Policy Outreach at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals in Wilmington,
DE, a Global Fortune 500 company.
In this diverse role,
Seiders is responsible for internal and external public policy communications;
health economic research and analysis; corporate social responsibility
initiatives and reporting; and external public policy outreach with key opinion
leaders, such as universities, think tanks and allied organizations.
In 2006, Seiders established AstraZeneca’s current issues
management framework, which identifies, tracks and monitors public affairs and
reputational issues through a variety of technical and non-technical methods.
Beyond issue scanning,
Seiders heads a cross-functional process team within AstraZeneca that regularly
provides output from the issue management system to aligned issue managers
within the company and senior management.
Seiders joined AstraZeneca
in February 2005 after six years at Pfizer where he worked in several global
pricing roles. Prior to his tenure at Pfizer, Seiders held senior-level
international economic and public affairs positions for a decade in Washington,
D.C. at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Department of Commerce,
International Trade Administration.
Seiders holds a B.A. in
international relations from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA, an
M.A. in international relations from The American University in Washington,
D.C., and an M.B.A. in economics from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. Seiders
is currently very active in several civic and professional organizations in the
Philadelphia area and lives in Wayne, PA with his wife Gabriela and 10-month old
son Jameson. |
