Jill Lester holds a number of Board positions as well as running her own consultancy, Strategic Communications, which advises on Reputation and Issues Management. 

For the past decade, Lester was Executive General Manager, Communications for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Australia’s largest retail bank.  In this role, she was responsible for media relations and PR, Group positioning, community relations and staff communications.  To address corporate reputation risk, Lester implemented an issues management approach across all business areas of the Bank. 

Lester is a non-executive Director of the Australian Red Cross, Chair of the International Operations Committee and a member of the Board’s Remuneration and Nominations Committee.   She also sits on the Advisory Board of the Centre for Public Communications of the University of Technology, Sydney.

She holds a Master of Economics, Bachelor degrees in both Arts and Economics and post-graduate qualifications in librarianship and education.
