Henry (Hank) Boerner
is Chairman
of The Governance & Accountability Institute, Inc. The Institute provides
services and products to leaders in the corporate, public and social
(not-for-profit and institutional) sectors to help them be “more accountable” to
stockholders and stakeholders. Institute offerings include customized research,
issue monitoring and analysis, custom publishing (print and electronic), and
advisory services.

Hank Boerner was Managing Director of Rowan & Blewitt for 15 years (the brand
closed in July 2007) and has over three decades of corporate communication,
investor communications, issue management and crisis communications experience.
He is recognized for his expertise in corporate governance, corporate and
institutional accountability and social responsibility trends affecting
corporations, the public sector, non-profit organizations, and trade
associations.
Before becoming a
consultant, Boerner was a board-elected officer and senior communications
manager for the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). He has also held senior public
relations, marketing and public affairs posts with the N.Y.S. Metropolitan
Transportation Authority and American Airlines, and was a member of New York
State Governor Nelson Rockefeller’s administration. Boerner began his career as
a business and financial newspaper and magazine journalist and editor, and was a
radio and television broadcaster.
Boerner is a member of the Issue Management Council and has served as board
member, treasurer and chairman. He is a member of the National Investor
Relations Institute (NIRI) and is Editor, NIRI Publications (including the
monthly NIRI Investor Relations Update and quarterly IR Mentor).
He serves as an independent arbitrator and mediator; is a Panel Arbitrator of
the American Arbitration Association; and member of the American Bar
Association’s Section of Resolution Dispute. |
