Charlie Sorrells

Charlie Sorrells, is Director, State Government Relations, for Eastman Chemical Company.  He has been with the company for the last 30 years.  Sorrells understands the importance of issue management, both professionally and personally.  He developed Eastman's Issues Management Process and is their Issues Management Steward. Some of his motivating thoughts include:

"Dig a well before you are thirsty."

"A wise monkey never monkeys with another monkey's monkey."

"Statistics are no substitute for judgment."

Sorrells has a B.S. in Psychology from Millsaps College, a B.S. in Engineering from Mississippi State University and an M.S. in Engineering Administration from the University of Tennessee.  He is a former Army Infantry Officer and a Vietnam veteran.  He is also a registered professional engineer, a card-carrying lobbyist and an eternal optimist.
